SUMMARY: The Banquet Manager is primarily responsible for delivering exceptional banquet and conference services to the guests. S/He will promote a safe and welcoming working environment to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. The banquet manager will work with the outlet manager to ensure maximum efficiency.
The Banquet Manager shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Hotel's Culture and Core Hotels & Resorts' Core Values.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Greet event contact and ensure all operational details are complete
  • Support with the banquet recruitment process
  • Ensure all banquet staff are onboarded, trained, coached, disciplined, motivated, developed, and rewarded consistently
  • Create efficient, cost- effective schedules for assigned banquet staff based on forecast and budget.
  • Lead in the management and adherence to all banquet standards, appearance and uniform guidelines, time and attendance policy, steps of service and service standards, etc.
  • Corroborate proper ordering and inventory in place.
  • Assign work and monitor the performance of scheduled banquet staff. - provide training and corrective directions.
  • Work closely with Kitchen Staff to communicate speed of service, client numbers, and special requests
  • Perform pre-function meetings and review all information pertinent to service and set up
  • Attend weekly BEO meetings
  • Oversee duties of banquet house attendant, ensuring all set-up needs are met prior to an event
  • Assist outlet manager with operational oversite

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
  • Associate Degree and/or 2 years of equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • At least three years of supervisory experience in banquet operations preferred
  • Knowledge of audiovisual equipment and kitchen equipment

JOB REQUIRMENTS:
  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
  • Must have flexibility with schedule to include evenings and weekends
  • Must be detail-oriented and work well under pressure
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with employees
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Possess strong motivational, organizational and verbal communication skills.
    Working CONDITIONS:
  • Able to stand for full shift
  • Able to lift at least 30 pounds
  • Able to work quickly under pressure
  • Able to read a diagram and divide it into servers' stations
  • Must be able to work in areas of loud noises.
