Job Description

Summary

We're looking for an HR Assistant / Recruiter to join our team in Duluth, GA, with 50% travel to our Tennessee manufacturing facilities in Cookeville (TMF) and McMinnville. You'll own full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles - sourcing, screening, offers, and onboarding - while keeping day-to-day HR operations running on the ground. Think of this as a true generalist seat: part talent acquisition, part HR support, all hands-on.

This is an ideal opportunity for an organized, people-focused HR professional with experience in high-volume or manufacturing environments who thrives in a fast-paced setting and takes pride in delivering an exceptional candidate and employee experience.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:

  • Comfortable with 50% regional travel between Georgia and Tennessee
  • Execute full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions (e.g., welders, fabricators, machine operators, supervisors)
  • Source candidates using job boards, approved staffing agencies, referrals, and community partnerships
  • Help create and update job descriptions and ensure compensation aligns with internal equity and current market data
    • Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and coordinate onsite interviews with hiring managers
    • Manage high-volume hiring pipelines while maintaining candidate quality standards
    • Maintain applicant tracking systems (ATS) and ensure accurate candidate documentation
    • Support and adhere to all Talent Acquisition SOP's outlined by Corporate HR
    • Coordinate and attend hiring events, job fairs, and workforce development initiatives
    • Establish and maintain world class levels of service for hiring teams.
    • Ensure all hiring practices comply with EEOC and federal/state employment laws

Onboarding & New Hire Coordination

  • Coordinate new hire orientation logistics and documentation
  • Prepare offer letters, onboarding packets, and pre-employment requirements
  • Facilitate background checks, drug screenings, and employment verification
  • Ensure timely system entry (HRIS/payroll) and badge/access setup
  • Partner with supervisors to ensure smooth onboarding and training alignment

HR Administrative Support

  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with documentation standards
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, employee inquiries, and HR communications
  • Support payroll processing by verifying new hire and status change information
  • Track attendance, turnover metrics, and recruitment KPIs
  • Assist in audits, compliance reporting, and internal investigations as needed

Employee Relations Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns
  • Escalate complex issues to HR leadership as appropriate
  • Support disciplinary documentation and performance management processes

Qualifications(education, experience, skills, personal attributes):

Education & Experience

  • Minimum - Associate's (Bachelor's degree preferred) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in high volume recruiting, HR administration, or talent acquisition
  • Experience in manufacturing or high-volume hiring environments strongly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, reporting, formatting)
  • Familiarity with multi-state employment practices is a plus

Core Competencies

  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities
  • Clear, professional communication with a strong customer service focus
  • Proven ability to manage multiple requisitions concurrently
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • High level of attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Proactive, solutionsoriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency
