Youth Villages is seeking a Recruiter based in North Carolina to support the continued growth of our programs across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to leadership and hiring managers, develop strategic sourcing initiatives, and build relationships with colleges and universities throughout the region to create strong talent pipelines.

We are seeking a self-motivated professional who thrives in a remote work environment and enjoys balancing relationship-building with process management. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and resourceful, with strong attention to detail and the ability to build meaningful relationships while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment. They are highly organized and comfortable learning and navigating multiple internal technology systems, while maintaining efficient, consistent recruiting processes and delivering an exceptional experience for candidates and hiring managers alike.

Hiring Manager Partnership & Workforce Planning

  • Partner closely with leadership to develop and implement short- and long-term recruiting and retention strategies.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Ohio to identify, attract, and hire top talent.

  • Facilitate regular staffing meetings with leadership to proactively plan for current and future hiring needs.

  • Serve as a trusted consultant to hiring managers by providing market insights, building talent pipelines, and recommending strategies to improve hiring outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance recruiting and onboarding processes and implement solutions to improve efficiency and the overall candidate experience.

  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Youth Villages programs, services, and position requirements across assigned states.

Talent Attraction & University Partnerships

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to identify and engage both active and passive candidates for a variety of positions and locations.

  • Create and implement a comprehensive college recruiting strategy to educate and prepare students for career opportunities with Youth Villages.

  • Build and strengthen relationships with colleges, universities, and community partners to expand internship opportunities and promote Youth Villages to current students and alumni.

  • Represent Youth Villages at career fairs, information sessions, and other in-person and virtual recruiting events.

  • Plan and facilitate hiring events, open houses, and other targeted recruitment initiatives in high-need areas.

Recruitment Operations & Candidate Management

  • Follow established internal and external recruitment processes, policies, and compliance requirements.

  • Manage multiple high-priority requisitions simultaneously while balancing competing deadlines.

  • Post and manage job openings within the Youth Villages applicant tracking system.

  • Review applications, screen resumes, and conduct phone interviews to identify qualified candidates for open positions.

  • Meet weekly recruiting goals related to candidate outreach, screening, and submissions to hiring managers.

  • Accurately maintain candidate data and recruiting activity within internal systems to support reporting and ensure a seamless hiring process.

Travel Requirements

  • Priority being given to candidates residing in Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham, Greensboro, Asheville or Wilmington areas. Some overnight travel is required throughout the year to attend university career fairs and support recruiting events. Reliable transportation to travel within the states of North and South Carolina is required.

  • Ability to confidently and effectively work in a remote environment while remaining highly responsive, organized, and self-directed.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Comfortable with public speaking, presenting, and representing Youth Villages at recruiting events.

  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize internal technology systems and recruiting platforms.

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and relationship-building skills, including the ability to navigate difficult conversations and influence stakeholders.

  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Experience interviewing candidates, primarily by phone, in a high-volume recruiting environment.
