Job description

Glide Cleaners HR And Administrative Role

Glide Cleaners has grown from a small residential window cleaning company to over $10M in revenue in four years, and we're on track to double again. We're looking for one sharp, personable person to take ownership of the HR and administrative work that currently lands on our executives' desks.

This role is roughly half HR and half operational problem-solving.

Hiring and Onboarding
  • Coordinate hiring โ€” post openings, screen resumes, schedule interviews, and make candidate welcome calls
  • Own onboarding: offer letters, I-9s, W-4s, background checks, welcome packets and swag, system access setup
  • Handle offboarding, including exit interviews and system access removal
Employee Support and Compliance
  • Maintain accurate employee records in our HRIS and support each payroll cycle
  • Review time clocks and manage time-off requests with attention to staffing coverage
  • Help launch and administer our benefits program, going live January 2027
  • Maintain progressive discipline documentation and support performance improvement plans
  • Advise region and branch managers on employee situations requiring tact and good judgment
  • Manage annual paperwork cycles including W-2s, 1099s, and open enrollment
Culture and Communication
  • Own employee recognition โ€” birthdays, work anniversaries, new hire introductions
  • Plan company culture events and celebrations
  • Send company announcements, holiday reminders, and policy updates
  • Coordinate incentive and rewards program fulfillment
Administration and Operations
  • Research and resolve state agency notices, registrations, and compliance filings across multiple states
  • Prepare and send outbound correspondence, including refund checks, service agreements, and cancellation confirmations
  • Own procurement โ€” source and order office supplies, swag, uniforms, and equipment, and manage vendor accounts
  • Keep the office clean, stocked, and welcoming
  • Calculate and verify customer loyalty commissions using dashboard data and manual review
  • Serve as primary contact for our staffing partner on payroll, timesheets, attendance, PTO, and candidate screening
  • Build repeatable processes and documentation

Responsibilities will phase in over your first year rather than landing all at once.

About the fit: We weight personality as heavily as experience. We're looking for someone who brings good energy, genuinely likes people, has a sense of humor, and makes the office better by being in it.

Compensation & benefits: $52,000โ€“$67,000 salary depending on experience, plus bonus and a full benefits package launching January 2027 โ€” a program you'll help build. This is our first dedicated HR hire, and the role will grow as quickly as you can grow it.

To apply: Submit your resume along with a short note describing a time you had to figure out something confusing with no instructions and no one to ask.

Glide Cleaners is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in HR, office management, recruiting coordination, or a comparable operational role
  • Experience with onboarding, employee records, or benefits administration
  • Discretion handling sensitive employee matters
  • Strong problem-solving ability โ€” much of this role is ambiguous, unglamorous problem-solving with no instructions
  • Strong organizational skills; this role touches many areas at once
  • Comfort working in an HRIS, solid spreadsheet skills, and the ability to learn new software quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal skills โ€” collaborative, warm, and easy to work with
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus
