Serve Your Community as an Adult Services Librarian with Wake County Public Libraries - Opportunities
Available at Two Locations! 

Engage directly with Wake County citizens as an Adult Services Librarian, where you'll have the chance to share the magic of the library with the community. From delivering captivating programs, offering one-on-one professional services and working on a service desk, you'll create unforgettable experiences that inspire a lifelong love of reading and learning. Your role will be essential in connecting adults of all ages with the library's resources, fostering relationships and building community. 


Key Responsibilities of an Adult Services Librarian: 

Create Engaging Programs: 
Unleash your creativity by designing and implementing dynamic programs for adults of all ages 
Create these experiences to spark curiosity and joy 
Build Community Skills: 
Take pride in meeting one-on-one with adults to assist them in building skills in job searching, doing research, applying for college and more 
Lead Confidently: 
Take charge in the absence of the library managers to ensure the smooth operations of the library 
Be a support and resource for your colleagues 
Collaborate with Passion: 
Join forces with a dedicated team to brainstorm, plan and execute programs, projects and maintain collections 
Contribute your unique strengths while fostering an environment of support, innovation and shared success 
Build Strong Community: 
Work with managers and peers to establish and nurture strong relationships with the community 
Promote library services and forge relationships that enhance our programs and services

3rd Saturday 8-5 or 9-6/Sunday 8-5 each Month 
Off Friday before Saturday and Monday after Sunday

Schedule: 
Mon, Wed, Thurs: 8:10 - 5:10 
Tuesday: 12:10-9:10 
Friday (when not working weekend): 8:10-5:10 or 9:10-6:10 depending on closing L1 rotation 
Saturday - every 3rd, 9:10-6:10 
Sunday - every 3rd, 8:10-5:10 (option to work 12:10-5:10 with a 3-hour workday in following week
