Job Title: Senior Physical Security Infrastructure Project Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Physical Security Infrastructure Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex security integration projects. This role is the "site lead" for the deployment of enterprise-grade security systems-including access control, video surveillance, and perimeter protection-within complex facility environments.
This is a technical leadership role for a project manager who is just as comfortable reviewing construction wiring diagrams as they are managing a multi-million-dollar project budget. You will serve as the primary bridge between our internal security/IT teams and the field contractors, ensuring that our projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
• Full-Lifecycle Management: Own the end-to-end execution of physical security projects, from site assessment and design validation to final commissioning and project closeout.
• Field Leadership: Lead on-site operations for system installations. Coordinate with general contractors, electrical trades, and security integrators to ensure project milestones are met.
• Compliance & Methodology: Utilize structured project management frameworks to maintain charters, risk logs, communication plans, and project dashboards. Ensure all delivery aligns with organizational governance standards.
Technical & Quality Oversight
• System Integration: Oversee the installation and configuration of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and intercom systems. Validate that installations meet technical specifications and system-wide security policies.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct site walk-throughs, system testing, and commissioning. Lead the final "handoff" process to support teams, ensuring all documentation-including as-builts and change orders-is accurate.
• Field Safety: Champion a safety-first culture. Ensure all work performed on-site complies with OSHA standards and project-specific safety requirements.
Financial & Stakeholder Management
• Budgetary Ownership: Track project financials, including labor hours, material procurement, and change order management.
• Stakeholder Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for internal business partners and external contractors. Provide structured status reporting, manage expectations, and facilitate proactive issue resolution.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of seven (7) years of experience managing physical security or low-voltage infrastructure projects.
• Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of access control, video surveillance (VMS), and intrusion detection hardware/software integration.
• Construction Acumen: Proven ability to read construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Project Governance: Experience managing project lifecycles using professional PMO tools and documentation standards.
• Field Readiness: Ability to travel to various job sites; must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Attributes
• Certifications: Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PSP, CPP) or manufacturer-specific security platform credentials.
• Trade Background: Experience coordinating with general contractors or working directly for a security integrator.
• Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with job site compliance and construction sequencing.
