Job description

Position: Recruiting & Career Services Manager
Department: Norman A. Wiggins School of Law
Status: Full Time
Position Summary:
The Career and Professional Development Center (Career Center) is responsible for all career development and recruiting programming for the approximately 600 students in the law school. It also provides advising and support services to alumni and engages with employer partners at law firms, government, public service and non-profit organizations, judicial chambers, and corporations across North Carolina and beyond. Supervised by the Director of Career and Professional Development, the Career Services Manager provides managerial as well as student and Career Center team support services throughout all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Career Center, providing excellent customer service, both internally and externally. As the initial contact for students, employers, and guests of the Career Center, the Career Services Manager will create a positive and professional environment, building rapport with students, alumni, employers, faculty and staff. This position requires a flexible schedule as work involves extended hours during peak times of the academic year as well as occasional evenings and weekend events throughout the year. Travel may be necessary for key events and interview programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruiting, Events, & Student Support
  • Manage and coordinate year-round on-campus interviews (OCI), North Carolina Legal Interview Program (NCLIP), and other recruitment programs. Regularly use independent judgment to handle internal and external communication, engaging with employers and students via phone, email and in person, to facilitate all aspects of the interview, application, and logistical processes for on-site and virtual recruiting.
  • Manage the Symplicity job bank, Flo Recruit, and all other recruiting platforms.
  • Develop and maintain efficient systems and processes for all areas of responsibility.
  • Track and manage data, independently preparing and running reports for the office and troubleshooting data collection matters.
  • Assist with collection and input of data for ABA and NALP reporting.
  • Regularly provide updates and insights to help shape office protocols and contribute to the enhancement of student-centered service.
  • Schedule and handle logistics and catering needs for employer visits and lunchtime programs.
  • Regularly assess office swag needs for events and programs and handle all orders.
  • Provide set up and handle administrative and logistical support for job fair, interview and professional development programs, and off-site special events. This may involve travel and/or weekend/weeknight work at special programs/events.
  • Conduct training sessions, develop and maintain training guides and resources, and serve as primary point of contact for student use of Symplicity and all recruiting platforms.
  • Train multiple student workers each semester/summer on Symplicity and Blackboard and manage their day-to-day tasks.
  • Handle reciprocity requests for the law school.

Other duties as assigned:
  • Throughout the year, additional innovative projects involving the Career Center may arise. This position will provide support as needed.
  • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX, HIPAA, and FERPA guidelines.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 1-year professional experience in a fast paced, client-facing environment as a recruiter, HR professional or executive/administrative assistant in a legal, higher education, or business/corporate setting desired
  • Experience working at a law school, law firm, or organization that works closely with either/both desired
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Experience with Canva, MailChimp and/or proficiency with learning new technology.
  • Experience with employment and career services management software and recruiting platforms Symplicity and Flo Recruit, strongly desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with various constituencies, including students, faculty, law school administration, lawyers, judges, corporate/business professionals, and high-level government officials.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as function effectively within a diverse team.
  • Must maintain the utmost degree of confidentiality and professionalism with discernment.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details and produce highly accurate work.
  • Ability to maintain a positive solution-oriented approach to work and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure in high volume periods of the academic year, while managing change and handling multiple projects at one time.
  • Exemplary project management and organizational skills necessary to handle multiple projects, prioritize work, meet deadlines and anticipate needs of office objectives.
  • This position requires accuracy, integrity, honesty and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
