About the opportunity
SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a temporary receptionist with the opportunity to become regular to support our Phoenix office. The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized problem solver with strong communication skills and a dedication to supporting a dynamic team to ensure smooth and efficient office operations. This position requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with our administrative team while providing exceptional support to employees in our corporate office environment.
This is a hub position and will be based in the Phoenix office and will support both in-person staff and distributed team members.
Application deadline: Our team will begin reviewing applications immediately, and interviews will be scheduled with qualified candidates on a rolling basis. Once we have identified suitable individuals, we may close the application process without prior notice. What you will accomplish
  • Provide professional front desk support and serve as the first point of contact for visitors and employees
  • Answer and direct incoming company calls in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Manage and respond to shared office email inboxes, directing requests and ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including document scanning and distribution
  • Coordinate FedEx and other shipping services
  • Issue and manage office, building, and parking access cards
  • Provide backup coverage for the local administrative team during vacations, wellness leave, or other absences
  • Support in-office meetings, including room setup and coordination
  • Assist with office supply inventory and ordering
  • Coordinate office food and catering orders
  • Provide print and project support for office teams
  • Other administrative duties

Experience and qualifications for success
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous receptionist, front desk, or administrative support experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Teams and general office technology Strong customer service mindset and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members
