Senior Strategy Development Manager

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility Surveillance, & Bombers (MS&B) is seeking a Senior Strategy Development Manager (Level M) to cultivate and lead a high-performing and high-visibility Strategy team in partnership with the Strategy Director. This role can be based in Tukwila, WA, Oklahoma City, OK, or Arlington, VA

This team will operate in a fast-paced environment working to define the vector, profitability, and success for our Division's mission areas and product lines (E-7, P-8, KC-46, B-52, B-1, Head of State transport, etc.). You will service both the Strategy function as well as the Division VPGM and work productively across all levels of The Boeing Company. As an active member of collaborative teams, you will be impacting market leadership positions, external partnership opportunities, and technology development to ultimately support the Warfighter.

This position will have responsibilities to define, contribute and/or manage Division deliverables related to Long Range Business Planning, New Business Funds (Internal Research & Development and Bid & Proposal), BDS Strategic Planning, and Phantom Works Strategy projects in support of Anti-Submarine / Anti-Surface Warfare, Battle Management Command and Control, Airborne Early Warning & Control, Tanking, VIP Transport, Bombers, and Intelligence, Surveillance, & Reconnaissance. Internal collaboration is complemented by external engagement with partners, suppliers, and customers as needed to create effective business structure solutions and goodwill while representing the Boeing brand.

Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Thrive in ambiguous and complex environments - add structure and thought leadership to yield positive outcomes
  • Understand strategy to action and can quickly feed back lessons learned to pivot or perform
  • Target win-win negotiations with potential partners, suppliers, and/or customers
  • Create value with novel solutions, some of which may challenge status quo in established environments
  • Build a team of teams to create a force multiplier for the Statement of Work, including usage of AI tools
  • Want to work on leading edge technologies and future Defense franchises

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projectsand initiatives
  • Experience in the acquisition and execution environment within the US Department of Defense (DOD) and/or the Defense Industry
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Knowledge of venture capital landscape, emerging technologies and global defense market trends
  • 5+ years of experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
  • Active Top Secret Clearance

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel: Capable of traveling up to 30% of the time. (Less travel required if based in the Puget Sound area)

Summary pay range:

Tukwila, WA & Arlington, VA: $210,800 - $285,200

Oklahoma City, OK: $183,600 - $148,400
