Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
The Business Development Manager supports regional growth by identifying and developing new market opportunities. In this role, you will focus on customers generally close to Boston. This role focuses on whitespace development, emerging customers, existing customers, and new market segments while supporting Siemens Energy's broader regional strategy. The Business Development Manager engages customers (new and existing), conducts market outlook discussions, and works closely with the VP of Business Development and Market Strategy, Key Account Managers, and Business Area Sales teams to convert opportunities to drive growth. This role will report directly to the VP of Business Development and Market Strategy for the Northeast region.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Build and maintain relationships with established and prospective customers, developers, and strategic partners.
  • Conduct market outlook and growth-focused meetings with customers and prospects, providing insight into industry trends, regulatory developments, and Siemens Energy's portfolio.
  • Identify emerging opportunities, risks, and market shifts and provide market intelligence and customer feedback to inform regional strategy and priority setting.
  • Coordinate closely with Business Area Sales to ensure early market engagement transitions smoothly into formal pursuits.
  • Identify and evaluate new markets / business opportunities across emerging customers, underserved segments, and whitespace markets.
  • Strengthen Siemens Energy's regional presence through consistent messaging and proactive market coverage and presence at industry events, trade shows, and regional forums.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in business development, sales, or market-facing roles within the energy, power, infrastructure, or related industry.
  • Strong market awareness and analytical skills, with the discipline to escalate insights rather than own strategy and understanding of energy markets, customer business drivers, and regulatory environments.
  • Comfort operating in support of senior leadership while independently driving assigned coverage area.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities, develop relationships, and translate insights into executable plans and strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Willingness to work in the office and ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and collaborate across businesses.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
About the Team
You will be part of the North America Markets & Customers organization-an agile, customer-focused team responsible for strengthening Siemens Energy's presence across the U.S. market. Each region operates with a lean, high-performing team that includes Regional Vice Presidents, Business Development Managers, Business Development Associates and Key Account Managers working together to support both strategic customers and market dynamics. The team partners closely with Business Area Sales, Government Affairs, Markets & Strategy, and Communications to translate market insights into coordinated actions that drive growth.
