Job description

Development Manager

Phoenix, Arizona | Full-Time | Reports to the CEO

Help Build the Future of One of Arizona's Most Impactful Nonprofits

At The Singletons, we believe no family should face cancer alone.

We provide hope and practical support to single-parent families battling cancer through meals, household essentials, financial assistance, birthday celebrations, wellness programs, and a compassionate community that reminds families they are never alone.

As we continue to grow across Arizona, we're seeking an experienced Development Manager who is passionate about building relationships, inspiring philanthropy, and expanding our impact. Working alongside the CEO and Board of Directors, you'll play a key role in growing donor support, cultivating corporate partnerships, and helping shape the future of one of Arizona's most meaningful nonprofits.

What You'll Do

As our Development Manager, you will:

  • Fundraising Strategy & Execution: Support the execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals and revenue targets while tracking fundraising performance, donor engagement, and pipeline activity. Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen fundraising results.
  • Major Gifts & Donor Engagement: Build and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, cultivating meaningful relationships that increase donor engagement and giving levels. Execute donor outreach, follow-up, and stewardship activities while partnering with the CEO and Board to support major gift cultivation and solicitations.
  • Corporate & Foundation Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate sponsors and foundation partners while identifying new partnership opportunities. Secure sponsorships, including event sponsorships, and ensure timely communication, reporting, and stewardship to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Annual Giving & Fundraising Campaigns: Execute annual fundraising initiatives, including year-end campaigns, Giving Tuesday, and the Arizona Tax Credit campaign. Support donor retention through consistent communication and compelling storytelling while helping increase donor participation, engagement, and overall philanthropic support.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 3–5+ years of nonprofit fundraising or development experience.
  • A proven track record cultivating donors, securing philanthropic support, or developing corporate partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Experience using donor CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Bloomerang, DonorPerfect, Network for Good, or similar systems.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to attend meetings and community events throughout the Phoenix area.

CFRE certification is a plus but not required.

Who You Are

You're someone who:

  • Builds authentic relationships and enjoys connecting people to meaningful causes.
  • Takes initiative, thinks strategically, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Is confident engaging donors, corporate leaders, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Is passionate about making a lasting difference for families facing cancer.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $70,000–$75,000 DOE
  • After 90 days, employees are eligible for:
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible Paid Time Off and sick leave
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A collaborative, mission-driven culture
  • Opportunities for professional growth as our organization continues to expand

Why You'll Love This Opportunity

This is more than a fundraising role - it's an opportunity to help shape the future of an organization transforming the lives of single-parent families facing cancer.

Working directly with the CEO and Board, you'll help build meaningful donor relationships, expand philanthropic support, and strengthen the foundation for The Singletons' continued growth.

In your first year, you'll establish a strong donor portfolio, secure new corporate partnerships, strengthen fundraising systems, and play a key role in helping the organization achieve its ambitious growth goals.

Every relationship you build and every dollar you raise helps ensure another family facing cancer receives hope, support, and the reminder that they are never alone.
