The Simulation Coordinator Lead serves as the operational and educational lead for simulation activities within the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Program. This position is responsible for the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of simulation-based learning experiences that support student achievement of course outcomes, clinical judgment development, and program learning objectives.


The Simulation Coordinator collaborates with theory, laboratory, and clinical faculty to ensure simulation experiences are standardized, evidence-based, and aligned with accreditation, regulatory, and nursing education standards. This individual oversees simulation operations, faculty development, simulation scheduling, and simulation equipment while supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives throughout the program.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Simulation Program Management


โ€ขOversee the daily operations of the simulation program and simulation laboratory.

โ€ขDevelop, coordinate, and maintain simulation activities across all ASN cohorts.

โ€ขEnsure simulation experiences align with course outcomes, program outcomes, and NCLEX preparation.

โ€ขMaintain simulation standards consistent with best practices in nursing education.

โ€ขCoordinate simulation utilization to maximize student learning opportunities.

โ€ขMonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of simulation activities and recommend improvements.


Simulation Scheduling


โ€ขDevelop and maintain the master simulation schedule for all ASN cohorts.

โ€ขCoordinate student simulation assignments, remediation sessions, and evaluation activities.

โ€ขCollaborate with faculty to ensure simulation experiences are scheduled appropriately throughout each semester.

โ€ขCommunicate simulation schedules and updates to faculty, staff, and students.

โ€ขCoordinate room assignments, equipment availability, and simulation resources.


Simulation Scenario Development


โ€ขCollaborate with faculty to develop, revise, and standardize simulation scenarios.

Student Evaluation and Remediation

Clinical and Program Support

Quality Improvement and Accreditation

โ€ขAssist with annual program evaluation and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

โ€ขMaintain records and documentation required for accreditation and regulatory review.

โ€ขParticipate in simulation, curriculum, and clinical committees.



Requirements:


Required


โ€ขCurrent, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.

โ€ขBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing preferred.

โ€ขMinimum of three years of recent clinical nursing experience.

โ€ขPrevious experience in nursing education, simulation, clinical instruction, or laboratory instruction.

โ€ขStrong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

โ€ขExperience working with educational technology and simulation equipment.


Preferred


โ€ขCertified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or willingness to obtain certification.

โ€ขExperience coordinating simulation programs in a nursing education setting.

โ€ขExperience with pre-licensure nursing education.

โ€ขKnowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements related to nursing education.
