GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

All Hinds Community College employees must commit to the Caring Campus approach to student engagement and daily apply these general behavioral objectives: listen to student questions and concerns with a positive attitude and make meaningful connections with students.

Provide technical support for all simulation operations including preparation, maintenance,

and repair of computerized manikins, task trainers, and related multimedia equipment. Assist

Simulation Center Director and Simulation Technology Specialist in implementing simulation

activities, monitoring inventory, and ordering supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience in managing and operating

simulation software and equipment

Proficiency in existing and emerging technologies in Healthcare Simulation.

Be able to utilize logistics for simulation space,

equipment, and supplies

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Certificate or higher degree in a health-related field with healthcare experience required. Experience in managing and operating

simulation software and equipment preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.

Provide technical support for all simulation operations, including preparation, maintenance

and repair of computerized manikins (software and hardware), task trainers and related

multimedia peripherals.

Work collaboratively with Simulation Center Director and Simulation Technology Specialist to

implement simulation activities.

Provide assistance to students and instructors in the simulation lab.

Promote and ensure safe lab practices.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Prepare labs and equipment for teaching sessions.

Record simulated sessions with subsequent editing and transfer into a temporary format for

review and analysis.

Assist the Simulation Technology Specialist to maintain an appropriate inventory of

equipment and supplies to meet simulation implementation needs.

Assist Simulation Technology Specialist with utilization logistics for simulation space,

equipment, and supplies

Provide technical support for computer-based multimedia systems and their components,

including operation of digital cameras, video cameras, audio/video mixer, digital/analog

converter, monitors, LCD projectors, and other equipment.

Understand the use and operation of relevant simulation modalities ranging from anatomic

models, task trainers, screen-based simulations, high-fidelity human patient simulators,

standardized patients, and virtual reality simulators.

Maintain proficiency in existing and emerging technologies.

Assist Simulation Technology Specialist with routine equipment maintenance, inventory, and

updates.

Provide support to standardized patients to include training, safety, and moulage.

Assist Simulation Technology Specialist with utilization logistics for simulation space,

equipment, and supplies.

Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.

Participate in appropriate educational opportunities as indicated to keep abreast of current

practices and equipment in the field of simulation.
