Job description

We are seeking a dynamic Sr. Learning & Development Specialist to design and deliver impactful training programs that elevate employee performance and enhance the customer experience. This role focuses on developing product knowledge, selling skills, service excellence, and presentation capabilities for our sales consultants. This is a hybrid position with 3 days in office and 2 from home with flexibility needed during training cohorts.
You will play a key role in identifying training needs, building engaging learning experiences, and partnering across departments to ensure employees are equipped to deliver an unmatched customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Training Design & Delivery
  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs for product knowledge, systems, procedures, selling, presentation, service, and design skills
  • Facilitate new hire training programs and onboarding curriculum
  • Lead both in-person and virtual training sessions

Content Development
  • Create, review, and update training materials for Universal and Sleep sales consultants
  • Develop training content for new merchandise, including vendor introductions and product launches
  • Support "train-the-trainer" initiatives and large-scale workshop rollouts

Needs Analysis & Program Development
  • Partner with sales consultants and leadership to identify training needs
  • Align training initiatives with business goals and performance expectations
  • Design ongoing education programs and workshops independently and collaboratively with the L&D team

Learning Technology & Evaluation
  • Develop and manage learning content within the Learning Management System (LMS) and other platforms
  • Create evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness and employee progress
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of new employees to guide ongoing coaching and development

Coaching & Performance Support
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to employees during initial training and beyond
  • Support managers with targeted feedback and development strategies
  • Reinforce best practices in selling, service, and customer engagement

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with L&D, Merchandising, Customer Service, Store Operations, and Distribution teams to enhance training programs
  • Address business challenges such as sales performance, customer experience, and product knowledge gaps

Industry & Culture Alignment
  • Stay current on trends in learning, presentation skills, home furnishings, and design
  • Integrate company culture and service standards into all training programs
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, helping new employees understand and embrace company values

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • 5+ years of experience in sales and/or service training
  • Strong knowledge of selling techniques, customer service, and product education
  • Experience designing and delivering training programs

Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Engaging and creative presentation skills (in-person and virtual)
  • Strong facilitation and coaching abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning technologies (LMS experience preferred)
  • Ability to analyze training needs and translate them into effective programs
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel to all corporate and retail locations, including the Taunton Distribution Center
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

The pay range for this position is $81,600 - $102,000. We share our pay range because transparency matters. This reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role based on experience and performance.
