Job description

Position Summary

The Sales Administrator is responsible for providing administrative, customer service, and sales support to the Sales organization. This position serves as the primary point of contact for inbound customer inquiries, customer onboarding and account setup, and assists with generating new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, coordinates sales activities, and ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process. The Sales Administrator works closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, and customers to support revenue growth while maintaining accurate customer records and delivering exceptional service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the customer onboarding process for new customers including credit applications, credit reference management, entering customer info into sales systems, account setup and related activities.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, services, pricing, availability, and general information.
  • Qualify inbound leads and route opportunities to the appropriate sales representative when necessary.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting activities to generate new customer opportunities and re-engage inactive customers.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective and existing customers by phone, email, and online inquiries.
  • Follow up on quotes, open opportunities, and customer requests.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through professional and timely communication.
  • Collect, enter and maintain accurate customer, prospect, and sales activity information within the CRM system.
  • Process customer requests and coordinate with Sales and Operations.
  • Resolve customer concerns by coordinating with internal departments to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain customer files, contracts, pricing documentation, and sales records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and sales processes.
  • Perform other sales support and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in customer service, inside sales, sales support, or business development.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience using CRM software preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through and problem-solving skills.
