Staffing Recruiter for The Midtown Group
Location: Remote, but must reside in the Greater Houston and surrounding areas.
Salary: $50-55K annually plus commissions
Commercial Recruiter
The Midtown Group is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Commercial Recruiter to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, thrives on competition, and is motivated by both individual success and team results.
You will recruit for a variety of contract and contract-to-hire positions across information technology, administrative support, finance and accounting, human resources, and other professional services. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, comfortable managing a high-volume workload, and energized by finding great candidates, not simply waiting for applicants to come to them.
We are open to experienced agency recruiters as well as motivated professionals who are earlier in their recruiting careers. If you bring the drive, urgency, curiosity, and willingness to learn, our team will provide training and support to help you succeed.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the full recruiting lifecycle for contract and contract-to-hire positions.
- Source and engage both active and passive candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, internal databases, referrals, networking, and creative outreach.
- Conduct candidate screens to evaluate experience, communication skills, career goals, compensation expectations, availability, and overall fit.
- Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines across multiple professional disciplines.
- Partner closely with business development and account management teams to understand client needs, hiring priorities, and position requirements.
- Present qualified candidates with clear, compelling summaries that highlight their relevant experience.
- Coordinate interviews, gather feedback, assist with offer discussions, and support candidates through onboarding and placement.
- Maintain consistent candidate communication throughout the recruiting process.
- Accurately document recruiting activity and candidate information within the applicant tracking system.
- Manage multiple open positions while maintaining urgency, quality, and a positive candidate experience.
- Develop long-term relationships with candidates and maintain an active professional network.
- Contribute to team goals, recruiting initiatives, and a collaborative, high-energy culture.
What We’re Looking For
- A hunter mentality with the motivation to identify and pursue talent proactively.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- The ability to work with urgency and remain focused in a high-volume environment.
- Confidence conducting outreach and speaking with candidates at different career levels.
- A competitive, goal-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in helping people advance their careers.
- Comfort working toward measurable recruiting and production goals.
- Ability to manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail.
- Coachability, resilience, and a willingness to learn from feedback.
- A collaborative approach and desire to celebrate both individual and team success.
- Previous recruiting, staffing, sales, customer service, or other high-volume relationship-based experience is helpful but not required.
Why Join The Midtown Group?
- Uncapped earning potential through a commission-driven compensation structure.
- Hands-on training and mentorship for professionals earlier in their recruiting careers.
- Exposure to multiple industries and professional disciplines.
- A collaborative environment where recruiters, account managers, and leadership work together.
- The opportunity to build your own candidate network and grow your recruiting desk.
- A fast-paced culture that recognizes initiative, consistency, and results.
- Meaningful career-growth opportunities for recruiters who are ready to take ownership of their success.
The Right Person for This Role
You may be a great fit if you are naturally curious, persistent, competitive, and comfortable initiating conversations. You enjoy working toward goals, are not discouraged by rejection, and understand that successful recruiting requires consistent outreach, follow-up, and relationship building. You want to be part of a supportive team, but you are also motivated to build your own success in a commission-driven environment.
