Assistant Reception Supervisor
This position supports the BYU Student Health Center reception team by helping supervise student receptionists, coordinate schedules, training staff, auditing work quality, and ensuring consistent front desk operations. This role plays a key part in providing excellent patient service and maintaining efficient clinic operations while supporting the mission of BYU.
What you'll do in this position:
  • Assist with hiring, scheduling, and supervising student receptionists.
  • Coordinate front desk operations and serve as point person when the Reception Supervisor is absent.
  • Update reception procedures and coordinate monthly training meetings.
  • Train new receptionists and maintain the reception training manual.
  • Serve as a resource for reception staff and coordinate scheduling questions with Student Health Center departments.
  • Perform reception duties as needed.
  • Audit receptionist work, provide feedback, and address business office and clinician corrections.
  • Identify workflow improvements and assist with clinician scheduling.

What qualifies you for this role:
Required
  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an office environment.

Preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a healthcare business office or reception environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and FERPA.
  • Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • 1+ year of training or supervisory experience.

Typical Starting Pay: $20.50 - $26.50
