VIC'S Market Associate:
Role:
Provides entry level reception and clerical support by greeting, stocking, inventory, and performing routine tasks in VIC'S Market.
  • This is a part-time position, working up to 19 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday during normal business hours. The work schedule will be determined based on departmental staffing needs and may vary to provide flexibility in meeting departmental needs.
  • The hourly rate for this position is $14.55.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • 55% Performs receptionist duties: Greets guests to VIC'S Market, oversees the sign in process for services, and provides general information or directions.
  • 25% Performs general inventory duties such as restocking the counter top in Vic's Market, stocking the pantry closet, assisting in preparation for the monthly mobile food distribution, organizing the shelves in the school food pantry, distributing information, break down empty boxes from the school pantry, restock the metal bins on campus.
  • 10% Prepares, collects, or distributes various correspondence.
  • 10% Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Performance Measurements:
  1. Demonstrates Viking Values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust.
  2. Complies with all state laws and regulations related to higher education.
  3. Greets all visitors in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
  4. Responds to requests and completes assignments in a timely fashion.
  5. Maintains current knowledge of departmental procedures.
  6. Maintains an acceptable record of attendance.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience: Up to six months of similar or related experience.
  • Education: A high school education or GED.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (students, visitors or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
  • Other Skills: Basic computer skills: the ability to use computer applications to complete daily work; ability to use standard office equipment; basic customer service skills.
  • Physical Requirements: The work is typically sedentary. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to do the work.
  • Work Environment: Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a typical office.
