The Energy Rebate Associate will support the implementation of commercial energy efficiency programs. This role focuses on processing rebate applications for multifamily and nonprofit projects, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely completion. The successful candidate will bring a methodical approach to documentation, strong project coordination skills, and exceptional attention to detail to track application progress and support efficient rebate processing.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and process commercial energy efficiency rebate applications, ensuring accurate documentation, energy savings verification, and timely submission of prescriptive and custom rebates.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for utility representatives, customers, contractors, and trade allies, resolving issues and maintaining alignment throughout the rebate process.
  • Maintain knowledge of utility rebate programs, requirements, and incentives while supporting internal training and stakeholder education.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utility clients, customers, contractors, and suppliers to support program participation and energy savings goals.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, timelines, and performance metrics to ensure compliance with program objectives and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project records, rebate tracking reports, and energy savings documentation.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and timely resolution of issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance the customer and stakeholder experience.
  • Support conflict resolution and provide solution-oriented customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay informed on energy efficiency technologies, building systems, and decarbonization strategies to support program success and client needs.

Required Skills
  • 1+ years of experience in energy efficiency or sustainability programs, rebate processing, or project coordination.
  • Detailed and organized self-starter with the ability to prioritize a workload and proactively identify and resolve problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, with a strong emphasis on Teams for collaboration, Excel for data tracking and analysis, and Word for producing technical reports.
  • Must be willing and able to contribute in a team environment while also possessing the capability to perform work independently.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of energy-consuming equipment and energy savings measures (e.g. lighting, HVAC, demand response), utility rebate programs
  • Previous experience analyzing utility bills and calculating energy savings to support energy efficiency projects and/or rebate processing.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Asana or Deltek Vantagepoint.
