Position Summary: The Grants Coordinator is responsible for the management of the grant-making administration of the AAACF. This process includes creating competitive applications and their processes, shepherding grants from proposal to payment declination and closure. To be effective in this position, the Grants Coordinator must work collaboratively across multiple departments and constituents, demonstrating a deep understanding of the needs of grantees, donors and other stakeholders and ensuring that those perspectives are incorporated in the grant-making process. The Grants Coordinator is accountable for the accuracy of all grant data reported internally or externally for the Foundation and its supporting organizations.

Compensation & Benefits: Starting pay is $52,000 – $60,000, based on experience and relevant expertise. AAACF also provides a generous benefits package including Company-paid training, excellent health/dental/vision benefits, 403(b) with match, and company paid life/STD/LTD. Education & Credentials: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a field related to the nonprofit sector is required.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, preferably in a nonprofit or foundation environment. Minimum one (1) year of experience in grants administration and processes preferred. Knowledge of federal, state and local government laws and regulations regarding grant agreements and administration, including tax laws governing charitable contributions. Foundant Grant Lifecycle Manager experience preferred. Fund accounting experience preferred. Technologically savvy with advanced computer skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams), database programs, Internet and various cloud-based systems.

Other Requirements: Proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity, equity and inclusion. Strong communication, written and verbal and interpersonal skills. Flexible, responsive, and collaborative work style with a strong service mentality. Familiarity with nonprofit funding and associated grant-making.

Primary Work Location: The Grants Coordinator must reside in Washtenaw County, Michigan and be willing to travel throughout the county as needed. Onsite attendance at AAACF’s Ann Arbor office four days per week, or more as required.
