Job description

Job Title: Real Estate Bookkeeper (Commercial & Residential)

Position Overview

We are looking for a Real Estate Bookkeeper to manage the financial records for our commercial/residential portfolio. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with AppFolio property management, strong attention to detail and will be responsible for managing daily data entry, financial transactions, bank reconciliations and accounts payable/receivable ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for dealing with AR/AP payments.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger & Transactions: Record day-to-day financial transactions, including income, expenses, and invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper categorization.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly for multiple commercial and residential entities.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage vendor bills, process payments, and issue invoices to tenants or clients.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven minimum of 2–4 years of bookkeeping experience in real estate accounting (commercial and residential property management preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in AppFolio software, Yardi property management or similar.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Exceptional accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills for communicating and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience in commercial lease management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
