The Opportunity:

This position is responsible to assist Community Development department with the operation of a variety of recreation and/or arts and culture programs, summer youth camps and other community programming, ensuring that all standards and high customer service levels are met. The Program Assistant will be responsible for supporting the implementation of various fun, safe recreation, arts and culture programs and camp opportunities.

Top Key Responsibilities:

  • Support recreation, sport, arts, and culture programs by assisting participants, staff, and instructors, including program setup and takedown.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and creating a positive participant experience.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment through monitoring program areas, correcting hazards, and performing general housekeeping and maintenance duties.
  • Ensure equipment and supplies are properly organized, maintained, and available for programs and events.
  • Follow City of Red Deer values, operational procedures, and health & safety policies, including emergency response procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

As our preferred candidate, you will have:

  • Grade 10 or equivalent.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • Standard First Aid Certificate
