The Starz Program is a nationally recognized children’s fitness enrichment program that has served communities across the country for over 20 years. In this role, you will help manage the day-to-day operations of the Starz program in Arlington, VA and Bethesda, MD, working closely with program leaders and a team of local instructors. This role is perfect for highly organized individuals with experience in the education space looking for a rewarding leadership opportunity. This hybrid role will require 10-20 hours/week working virtually and on-site at schools across the DMV area. Exact hours may fluctuate from week to week.


Core Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate weekly with program leaders and 15 local instructors
  • Communicate with instructors daily about class schedules, curriculum, and equipment
  • Conduct virtual and on-site candidate interviews to help build the team
  • Lead on-site training to prepare new instructors
  • Conduct quarterly classroom observations to ensure high-quality programming
  • Attend the first day of new classes to ensure a smooth start with partners, students, and parents
  • Coordinate and attend Parent Showcase Days at the end of each session
  • Meet with partner schools in-person to build long-term relationships
  • Store and distribute program equipment to the team (pom poms, soccer balls, backpacks)
  • Develop and enhance program curriculum
  • Call, email, and go in-person to prospective partner schools to grow the program
  • Lead monthly in-person team meetings and professional development opportunities
  • Attend monthly calls with program leadership
  • Substitute teach for classes when available and possible (dance, cheerleading, sports/fitness)
  • Manage last minute call-outs and arranging for substitute teachers to fill-in
  • Support the Owner & Executive Director with timesheets, payroll, and other administrative duties
  • Other program support as assigned

Schedule & Commitment:

  • 10-20 hours/week (Mon-Fri between 9am-5pm) - design a consistent weekly schedule
  • Available throughout the week via phone/email to respond to team needs in a timely manner
  • We’re looking for team members interested in growing with us for multiple years 
  • Enjoy the flexibility to have other commitments outside of Starz (family, school, other part-time work commitments)

Requirements:

Requirements

  • 18+ with a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have a reliable car and be willing to drive weekly to schools in Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, Bethesda, Rockville, Potomac with a valid driver’s license
  • Experience working in the education space 
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • High level of professionalism and responsibility
  • Self-starter and self-motivated
  • Able to pass background check and school screening requirements
  • Able to lift up to 20 lbs and actively lead movement-based classes without limitation

Position Details: 

  • Job Type: Part-time (W-2 employee)
  • Pay: $20/hour for administrative work, $25/hour to teach/sub for classes
  • Hours: 10-20 hours/week, may fluctuate from week-to-week
  • Pay Schedule: Direct deposit every other Friday
