Job description

The Specialty Mfg. Co. is a vertically integrated company offering the industrial and manufacturing sectors a one-stop-shop solution for products, machining, molding, and light assembly. From stock items to the design and production of custom parts and machinery, our five divisions provide the solutions and support you need every step of the way.
The Production Planner will be primarily responsible for the planning and organization stages of production to meet our customer requirements and our 95% on-time delivery. 
Essential Job Functions
  • Plan and organize the production schedule.
  • Establish floor priorities provide work direction in absence of Manager or Supervisor.
  • Provide guidance to Production Planners and Assistant planners as necessary.
  • Run daily production meeting.
  • Provide backup support of planning activities to area manager.
  • Release and print job packets.
  • Request components from assembly to cover production requirements in second operations.
  • Plan and organize the building of sub assemblies and units.
  • Update weekly capacity charts.
  • Help to ensure accurate routing standards by comparing run vs actual.
  • Work with appropriate areas to resolve cost, quality, delivery, and material issues.
  • Assist with labor reporting and weekly time card processing.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory.
  • Vendor Service purchase orders.
  • Assist in setting priorities and suggesting ordering raw stock.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or similar field preferred
  • APICS Certification preferred
  • ERP Management experience, Epicor Kinetic highly preferred
  • 4 years’ experience in a planning or supply chain role (preferred in manufacturing)
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Proven organizational and planning skills
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work across all functions of manufacturing and office
  • Mature interpersonal skills.

Compensation and Benefits
Expected Compensation Range: Hourly, non-exempt- $25-$33
Specialty Manufacturing is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
