Job description


Ichor Systems, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our Operations. This is a full-time onsite position located in Fremont, CA. This entry-level position is ideal for an individual looking to build a career in manufacturing, supply chain, or production planning.
The Production Planner is responsible for developing and executing production and inventory plans that support customer demand, operational objectives, and business goals. This role exercises independent judgment in evaluating production capacity, inventory strategies, material availability, and demand fluctuations to optimize manufacturing performance and service levels.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee master production schedules that balance customer demand, inventory targets, production capacity, and business priorities.
  • Analyze demand forecasts, inventory trends, capacity constraints, and operational performance data to make recommendations that support business objectives.
  • Exercise independent judgment in establishing production priorities and adjusting schedules to mitigate supply chain, inventory, or manufacturing risks.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Operations leadership to align production plans with organizational goals.
  • Evaluate material availability, inventory investment levels, and production constraints and implement planning strategies to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Lead planning activities related to new product introductions, demand fluctuations, capacity changes, and inventory optimization initiatives.
  • Monitor production performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve schedule attainment, inventory turns, service levels, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and present planning analyses, forecasts, capacity plans, and performance reports to management to support decision making.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance planning effectiveness, inventory management, and overall supply chain performance.
  • Maintain planning parameters within the ERP system and ensure data integrity to support accurate business planning and reporting.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on production planning processes and provide guidance to cross-functional teams regarding planning strategies and inventory management.
  • Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and other business planning activities by providing recommendations based on demand, capacity, and inventory analyses.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning methodologies, operational efficiency, and business performance.
  • Ensure planning activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational objective

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze data and solve problems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).

Preferred
  • 0 - 4 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, manufacturing operations, inventory control, or a related field. Recent graduates with relevant internships, coursework, or manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Knowledge of basic inventory management and production planning concepts.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments.

For candidates in CA: The pay range for this position is $85,000 - $144,500, exempt, per year.
Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
