Job description

Your role
You are a person of strong work ethic who is looking to build a career as a Production Planner with a leading innovator and manufacturer of Turbo Expander technology. This role will be a key member of the production planning group, aggregating and disseminating information and documentation to and from almost all areas of the organization to facilitate the most efficient and effective usage of shop resources ensuring on-time delivery of finished goods.
The compensation range for this position is $83,464.06 - $140,756.95 annually (paid bi-weekly). The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus. What you will own/improve:
  1. Planning: You will cover planning activities for some or all of the following: new equipment, aftermarket spares, aftermarket repairs/redesigns (OEM and non-OEM), research and development, and commissioning/warranty. In support of the master production schedule, you will plan production orders/routings, ensure provisions for customer quality requirements/inspections, and monitor material status/labor progress.
  2. Revisions and design changes: You will process and facilitate resolution of work-in-process drawing revisions and bill of materials changes/issues.
  3. Nonconformities and rework: You will help facilitate the timely resolution unplanned issues and errors.
  4. Shop support: You will be the front-line resource for shop needs related to your projects.
  5. Expediting: You will identify insufficient progress or delays and seek solutions for resolution.
  6. Firefighting: When something falls outside our developed processes you will help gather the resources and personnel needed to develop a unique solution.
To succeed, you will need
  • Innate ability to build working relationships with individuals from the shop floor level to engineering and department management.
  • You possess exceptional computer aptitude and expertise.
  • You've worked on Enterprise Resource Programs (ERP)/Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems before, preferably SAP.
  • You've worked with design documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • You have a familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • You can shift from thorough and thoughtful work to efficient and urgent when warranted.

This role reports to the Production Planning Manager and will work and collaborate as an integral part of a tight-knit and dynamic team helping to support cost-effective on-time delivery of goods and equipment. Other extended team members include: master scheduling, material requirements planning, and material handling who support a manufacturing facility of over 160 skilled technicians, welders, and machinists.
What you will learn:
  • Hands-on experience in identifying, assessing, and overcoming practical challenges in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to an engineer-to-order environment and SAP ERP/MRP, Enovia Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), internal MediaWiki documentation and a tight-knit collaborative working environment.
  • Planning, execution, delivery, and reporting experience.

  • Maintaining minimal process backlog.
  • Maintaining a pulse on shop floor and project specific activities.
  • Achieving common goals by actively supporting other team members as needed.
  • Maintaining working relationships and open channels of communication with shop floor, engineering, and management.
