PARALEGAL ASSISTANT


Job Description

The Paralegal provides essential legal and administrative support to the VP of Legal Counsel & Risk Management. This role assists in the preparation, organization, and management of legal documents; supports compliance and risk mitigation workflows; and contributes to efficient daytoday operations of the Legal & Risk Management function.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, proofreading, and organizing legal documents including contracts, agreements, statements, and amendments.
  • Conduct preliminary legal research and summarize findings.
  • Support compliance efforts by monitoring deadlines and regulatory updates.
  • Maintain and organize legal files, contract repositories, and documentation.
  • Assist in due diligence during business initiatives.
  • Help coordinate litigation activities and liaise with external counsel.
  • Track insurance documentation, renewals, and claims.
  • Support risk assessment processes and prepare related documentation.
  • Assist with data privacy and security compliance workflows.
  • Monitor key dates to ensure timely compliance actions.
  • Prepare presentations, summaries, and briefing materials for leadership.
  • Serve as a coordination point for internal legal support needs.

Educational and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate from an accredited program (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of paralegal experience, ideally in corporate or compliance settings.
  • Familiarity with state, federal, and industryspecific regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Collaborative working style across teams.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office.
