  • Full time, 90-day paralegal intern. This is an opportunity for you to see if your education and experiences fit well with the legal profession and to see if paralegal work is a good fit for you.

Position description:

  • Our full-time paralegals handle a wide variety of cases and legal issues related to all types of injury claims. We encourage interested candidates to read about our practice at www.fightingforfairness.com

During your 90 days, you’ll work with lawyers and paralegals to learn the ropes of paralegal work within our firm.

A paralegal generally assists with managing cases in all states of litigation – some of those tasks will include:

  • Providing overall management for all deadlines and assuring the same have been met.
  • Working with clients to gather and organize key information and documents at various stages of a case from initial sign-up through trial.
  • Drafting legal documents including: administrative complaints, petitions, discovery requests and responses, appearances, notices, motions, dismissals, and other similar documents.
  • Corresponding with third parties including employers, medical providers, government agencies, expert witnesses, and others to request and receive key documents and information.
  • Managing case deadlines and progress.
  • Overseeing the flow of written document exchange with opposing legal counsel, including both responding to requests and managing and organizing incoming information.
  • Assisting with all aspects of scheduled court events and trial, including attending events when needed.
  • Serving as a front-line resource for clients and the liaison between attorneys and clients throughout the duration of the representation.
  • Providing scheduling support as it relates to client meetings, depositions, mediations, court events, and other case- or client-related events.
  • Maintaining organized digital case files.

We are a highly collaborative office, and, like all our paralegal case manager positions, this is an in-person position.

Qualifications:
We do not require prior legal experience. We also do not require any specific degree or certificate. We do, however, place value in past experiences and education.
