The Position

We are seeking a Legal Support Assistant to join our team and serve as a key support resource within a fast-paced law firm environment. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone eager to gain hands-on experience and grow within the legal profession.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you'll support attorneys and Legal Administrative Assistants while helping maintain a professional and welcoming office environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
  • Answer, screen, route, and respond to incoming phone calls and messages
  • Greet, screen, and direct visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Assist with opening and closing client matters
  • Receive, sort, and distribute electronic notices, U.S. mail, faxes, and other documents
  • Help organize and maintain physical and electronic files within the firm's document management systems
  • Assist with client invoicing, including submission and verification of billing documentation
  • Support the submission of vendor bills and check requests
  • Research and respond to client billing inquiries
  • Manage and update information using Excel spreadsheets
  • Provide general administrative support to the office and team as needed

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 1 year of administrative or clerical experience in an office setting
  • Prior law firm experience is helpful but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer service mindset
  • High attention to detail with excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Comfort handling confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with document management or legal software is a plus
  • Willingness to work in person in an office environment
