Job description

Pinnacle Point Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable and experienced Cook / Dietary Cook to join our dietary team in Riverside, Missouri. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in healthcare food service, nursing home dining, senior living, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, or large-scale kitchen operations.

The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious meals, maintaining food safety standards, supporting therapeutic diets, and ensuring quality meal service for residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation environment.

We are conducting on-the-spot interviews for qualified candidates.


Cook Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve meals according to approved menus, recipes, and therapeutic diet requirements
  • Cook meals in accordance with Federal, State, and Local food safety regulations
  • Maintain high standards for food quality, portioning, presentation, and meal timing
  • Review production sheets, resident census, and menus to determine food quantities and preparation needs
  • Prepare regular, modified, and texture-altered diets as directed
  • Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment including:
    • Convection ovens
    • Steamers
    • Mixers
    • Food processors
    • Tilt skillets
    • Meat slicers
    • Ranges and grills
  • Monitor and record food temperatures during preparation and service
  • Follow proper sanitation, cleaning, storage, labeling, and handwashing procedures
  • Assist with food prep including washing, cutting, slicing, portioning, and stocking
  • Maintain clean kitchen workstations, equipment, floors, and storage areas
  • Support meal service for residents in a long-term care and rehabilitation setting
  • Assist Dietary Manager and kitchen team as needed
  • Complete additional duties assigned by leadership

QualificationsPreferred Experience
  • 1+ year of experience in:
    • Long-term care
    • Nursing home dietary services
    • Healthcare food service
    • Assisted living
    • Hospital kitchen operations
  • 2+ years of experience as a cook in a high-volume or commercial kitchen preferred
Education
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
Skills & Requirements
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion controls
  • Experience preparing therapeutic or modified diets preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Reliable attendance and teamwork skills
