Summary

The employee in this position is responsible for sorting, processing and delivering mail within a professional office location. This person will become knowledgeable of all mail processing equipment and software on site, properly utilizing this equipment to its fullest potential and will engage in a continuous improvement model to meet, and exceed company standards of production and quality.

Responsibilities

  • ย Receive and log accountable incoming mail/overnights daily
  • ย Sort incoming mail
  • ย Perform mail delivery tasks
  • ย Prepare outgoing mail for USPS/courier pickup
  • ย Process outgoing mail according to Postal requirements
  • ย Sort Company mail, specific bulletins, and correspondence
  • ย Monitor and listen to clients to understand inquiries and requests and provide accurate and prompt assistance
  • ย Receive, log, and deliver FedEx, UPS, and USPS packages in a timely manner
  • ย Immediate attention given to clients entering or calling Mail Center
  • ย Learns from, teaches, and assists fellow team members with other duties as needed.
  • ย Adheres to the Standards of OMG and client Excellence.
  • ย Other duties as assigned by management.

All positions require cross training to enable better service for our customer.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • ย Operation of print related equipment, packaging and managing print work as needed
  • ย Miscellaneous work related to special projects as assigned by the client or OMG Management

ย Qualifications

  • ย High School Diploma or equivalent
  • ย Knowledge of mail room environment preferred.
  • ย Knowledge of postal equipment preferred.
  • ย Familiarity with USPS general guidelines preferred.
  • ย Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • ย Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills required
  • ย Ability to be personable, articulate, knowledgeable and professional.
  • ย Ability to learn skills quickly and thoroughly.
  • ย Ability to multi-task
  • ย Attention to detail.
  • ย Ability to function with a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy in handling any complaints/situations
  • ย Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ย Excellent organizational skills
  • ย Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • ย Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions.
  • ย Strong initiative with an ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

  • ย Fine and/or gross motor skills, including the ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of 100lbs daily
  • ย Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and/orsit for an extended period
  • ย Manual dexterity required for operating office machinery (phone, copy machines, binding equipment, etc.) or mail processing equipment
  • ย The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
  • ย The ability to lift approximately 50lbs. daily
