Mail Clerk

Salary Range $16.00 - $19.00 Hourly

Schedule: Monday โ€“ Friday, 9:00 am โ€“ 5:00 pm

About The Role

The Mail Clerk is responsible for the daily processing and submission of mailing statements through the USPS PostalOne! system, ensuring compliance with USPS mailing requirements across all classifications of mail. This role also coordinates daily transportation and ensures all mailings are delivered to the USPS on schedule.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review and understand all jobs needing to be mailed each day, including classification of mail, payment types (permit, meter, stamp)
  • Create daily drop sheets.
  • Communicate daily with the USPS to confirm funds available to mail on client permits.
  • Work with Shipping Supervisor to coordinate daily transportation.
  • Operate an automated pallet wrapper and both manual and electric pallet jacks.
  • Troubleshoot problems.
  • Work with safety in mind and report any potential unsafe circumstances.
  • Maintain a high level of accurate and quality-assured work.
Qualifications
  • One (1) to three (3) years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of USPS mailing requirements for all classifications of mail.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Book, Excel, Word, PostalOne, and the USPS Business Customer Gateway.
  • Familiarity with USPS Business Customer Gateway and Postal Wizard.
  • Proficiency in navigating multiple web-based applications and websites to update and maintain information on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to complete and pass Public Trust Security Clearance.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 35 lbs.
