As a legal word processor, you work for a law firm or corporation. Your primary responsibilities are legal correspondence and written documentation. Your job duties include administrative work, like answering the phone or distributing mail to colleagues, but most of your work involves typing drafts of reports, documents, and legal correspondence to clients from notes, rough drafts, corrected copies, or voice recordings. NYC Salary Range - $55,130 - $60,000 annually; compensation is commensurate to geographic location. What you'll do Regardless of seniority or role, uphold UNFCU’s mission, core values, and guiding principles by providing an exceptional service experience to colleagues and members alike through consistent demonstration of our service excellence behaviors Review communications for deceased memberships and ensure timely responses Evaluate documents and apply risk-based analysis to determine validity Review tax documents and apply risk-based analysis process Perform due diligence as required by state laws for yearly escheatment; organize funds transfer to state agencies for final payout Verify member’s taxpayer status by mailing certification forms and ensure that member records are up to date Perform additional responsibilities as assigned Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and UNFCU’s Code of Ethics & Business Conduct What we're seeking High School Diploma 2 years of experience in legal documentation processing (tax certification, restraining notices, tax levies, death/estate claims and unclaimed funds) in a banking or related environment Strong knowledge of U.S. and non-U.S.
