Job description

Permanent part-time, remote working position for legal word processor to support sole practitioner.


Small, busy office, emphasizing criminal law, with reputation for good written work, seeks experienced part-time word processor with some paralegal experience. Five years legal experience and typing speed over 85 words per minute required. (Short skills test will be given as part of interview.)


We are looking for someone who is familiar with all aspects of document production from transcription to filing/transmittal of the document. Experience with Federal and State Courts is highly desirable. We are looking for knowledge of court requirements for pleadings; preparation of briefs and tables of authorities; proof reading and editing. Light research and litigation support experience is a plus.


The emphasis of the position is assisting in document production through transcription.


Approximately 10 to 20 hours a week. Pay negotiable, dependent on experience. This is a remote, contract position with bonuses for high quality work.
