The Legal OperationsManagersupports theDePuy SynthesLegalOrganization bymanaging systems,dataand software applications to execute core functions, including outside vendor relationships and payments, matter,knowledge and training management, contracting systems and archives,departmental communications,litigation support tools,and budgeting.This role would support efforts of the General Counsel toimproveoperational efficiency, enabledatadrivendecisionmaking,manage outside counsel and vendor costs,andoptimizetechnological tools, including the use ofAI applications and support special projects. This role plays a critical part inenablingthe success of the Legal Organization bypermittingLegal teamstofocus on strategic,highvalueworkthroughstreamlinedsystems, managing legal technology and vendors, and supporting financial and performanceobjectivesof the Legal Organization. Supportdaytodaylegal operations activities, including matter management, intake processes, paymentsystemsand training resources.
Assistwith management of legalspend, budgeting, forecasting, and invoice review in partnership with Finance.
Support implementation and ongoing use of legal technology tools (e.g., matter management, ebilling, contract lifecycle systems)volume.
Coordinate withand overseeoutside counselandothervendors, including onboarding, performance tracking, and compliance with billing guidelines.
Develop andmaintaindashboardsandmetricson Legal Organization operations as requested
Support process improvement initiatives tooptimizelegal output, including use of alternate legal service providers, rightshoringand use oftechnology,includingthroughautomatedlegal servicesor artificial intelligence.
Assistwith development and maintenance ofLegal Organizationpolicies.
Bachelor's degreerequired(BusinessAdministration, Legal Studies, Finance, Operations, or related field preferred).
Required:
6-8 years of experience supporting Legal operations, Legal departments, orother similarprofessional services operations.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience working with data, reports, and metrics to support operational decisionmaking.
Proficiencywith common business tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and comfort learning new systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Preferred:
Experience with legal matter management, ebilling, or contract lifecycle management systems.
Experience supporting outside counsel management and legal spend analytics.
Experience with soliciting vendors through RFPs and RFIs.
Experience driving or supporting process improvement initiatives.
Familiarityor experiencewith project management methodologies or tools.
Other:
Certifications: Legal Operations or Project Management certifications preferred but notrequired.
