The IT Systems Analyst is responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and troubleshooting IT applications and for ensuring the availability, stability, and reliability of those applications. They monitor system performance, identify, and resolve technical issues, and ensure efficient operation of all clinical systems. The analyst also provides technical support to end-users and collaborates with other IT teams to resolve complex technical problems related to clinical systems.

IT Systems Analyst I:

Job Description

Education:
Preferred: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Required: 2 years of experience in healthcare clinical workflows and/or IT support, including experience with nursing, provider, or ancillary department technologies OR Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field.
Skills:
Basic understanding of healthcare operations and clinical workflows
Basic knowledge of inter-related solutions and IT systems knowledge with the aligned application domain. Develops and maintains knowledge of related IT systems as well as supporting business and IT domains.
Basic analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and adapt to the healthcare environment.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:

IT Systems Analyst II:

Education:

Required: 4years of experience in healthcare clinical workflows and/or IT support, including experience with nursing, provider, or ancillary department technologies OR Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, a related field.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of inter-related solutions and IT systems knowledge with the aligned application domain. Develops and maintains knowledge of related IT systems as well as supporting business and IT domains.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with department resources.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong understanding of operational workflows.
Strong documentation skills.
Ability to lead small to medium size initiatives related to clinical systems improvements

Hands on Skills:

  • Configuring Devices: Routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
  • Troubleshooting Tools: Ping, traceroute, Wireshark, NetFlow, SNMP monitoring.
  • Cabling & Hardware: Fiber, copper, transceivers, patch panels, rack/stack.
  • Must be able to carry 10-15 pounds of equipment and lift into a rack.

Networking Fundamentals:

  • Understanding TCP/IP, OSI model, subnetting, VLANs, routing vs. switching, DNS, DHCP, NAT.
  • Protocols & Services: HTTP/S, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, VPNs, VoIP, multicast.
  • LAN/WAN Technologies: Ethernet, wireless standards (802.11), MPLS, SD-WAN.
  • Routing & Switching: Static and dynamic routing (OSPF, BGP), STP, port channels, trunking.
  • Cisco, Aruba, VMWare
  • Certifications strongly preferred: CCNP, CCIE, etc.
