As the Event Sales Manager, you will report to National Director of Sales, with overall accountability to the VP of Event Sales & Business Development. While you will collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless event transitions, the primary focus is seeking new sales opportunities, consulting with clients on all event details to ensure smooth execution, managing revenue documentation, and maintaining accurate financial records.

What you'll be doing:

The duties include, but are not limited to, the following

  • Develop, plan, and sell events, aiming to exceed monthly and annual sales objectives
  • Create and implement sales initiatives and strategies to meet and surpass KPI standards
  • Establish and nurture relationships with repeat clients through regular outreach and follow-ups
  • Identify new business opportunities through proactive outbound efforts
  • Build and maintain relationships with local DMCs, event planners, CVBs, and hotels
  • Collaborate with the National DOS and GM on sales and marketing initiatives
  • Maximize revenues using upselling techniques and strategic sales approaches
  • Ensure accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial reporting. Analyze financial variances and initiate corrective actions as needed
  • Provide timely proposals tailored to client needs, including menu selections, beverage preferences, and overall event planning
  • Schedule and execute site tours, ensuring clients receive comprehensive and engaging experiences
  • Understand FOH and BOH operational procedures as they relate to events
  • Oversee the accurate execution of events from start to finish, maintaining strong communication with the venue team
  • Manage time efficiently, handling multiple tasks and adapting quickly to changing priorities
  • Spearhead BEO meetings and collaborate staffing schedules with operations
  • Remain flexible in approach to meet evolving business needs and requirements
  • Deliver outstanding guest service throughout all stages of the sales process, including post-event follow-ups for repeat business and referrals
  • Actively participate in local professional networking events and follow up on leads
  • Be proficient in POS systems, Tripleseat, Microsoft Office, and Wisely
  • Ensure all events adhere to Punch Bowl Social brand standards and operational excellence

Requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 3 years in restaurant or hotel event sales, with a proven track record in event-specific sales
  • Experience in event operations (a plus!)
  • Extensive understanding of the market and industry trends
  • Proven experience working in high-volume, fast-paced environments for at least 3 years
  • Familiarity with event operations and the ability to adapt to varying schedules based on event volume
  • Ability to accommodate and work schedules that align with restaurant and bar volume demands
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong math aptitude for financial reporting and budget management
  • Experience in managing, leading, and motivating a team of employees

  • Must be able to work on-site at venue during weekdays, as this role requires hands-on involvement with daily operations and event coordination.
  • Flexible hours with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Good sense of balance, with the capability to bend, kneel, and lift products weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to remain stationary while working at a computer screen or on the phone for extended periods
  • Awareness of potential hazards, including slipping and tripping
