Entry-Level IT Support Technician

Location: Reno, NV (On-site)
Job Type: Temporary / Project-Based (30–45 Days)
Pay: $15–$20/hour (DOE)

Position Overview

We are seeking an Entry-Level IT Support Technician to assist with a short-term technology deployment project. This hands-on role involves setting up desktop computers, laptops, monitors, printers, and other office equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical IT experience. No programming or software development experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unbox, assemble, and install desktop computers, laptops, monitors, printers, and related peripherals.
  • Connect power, video (HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA), Ethernet, USB, and other cables to the appropriate ports.
  • Set up workstations by connecting equipment to power sources, networks, and peripherals.
  • Organize and label cables to ensure clean and professional workstation installations.
  • Perform basic functionality checks to verify equipment powers on and is properly connected.
  • Move and position IT equipment at designated workstations.
  • Track deployed equipment by recording serial numbers and asset tags.
  • Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment to the project supervisor.
  • Follow written setup guides, deployment instructions, and project checklists accurately.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment throughout the project.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Ability to identify and connect common cable types, including power, HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, Ethernet, and USB.
  • Comfortable following detailed instructions and completing repetitive setup tasks.
