As an enrollment advisor, your job is to help prospective students decide whether or not they want to apply for classes and programs at your school. You guide them to particular courses, support the school's recruitment efforts, and help students evaluate their abilities so they can make a realistic plan for their future. In many cases, you also work as a career coach to help potential students understand the needs of the labor market and how likely they are to get a job with their degree. To support these efforts, you must understand the curriculum. Some schools hire enrollment advisors for specific departments, such as performing arts, applied sciences, or information technology.
