The following are tasks to be performed by the Business Development Manager. The duties are not limited to this list. Any additional requirements, changes, or deletions will be at the discretion of the Chief Operations Officer. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility and duty satisfactorily.
SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and overseeing customer program execution through the management of Program Managers and Account Managers. This role supports the full customer lifecycle from initial engagement and opportunity development through program launch and sustained production. The Business Development Manager will also lead trade show planning and execution, including developing strategies for marketing the company at events and eventually managing a small events/marketing team focused on the markets we serve. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes including injection molding, precision machining, and related secondary operations. Travel may be required for customer visits and trade shows, up to 30% of the time. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth, maintaining strong customer partnerships, supporting quoting and contract negotiations, and ensuring successful program execution across all assigned accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related experience that supports the Job Roles & Duties listed below.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in Business Development, Technical Sales, or Account Management within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
- Experience within Injection Molding, Precision Machining, or advanced manufacturing industries preferred.
- Experience working with Aerospace, Defense, Medical, or other regulated manufacturing sectors desired.
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business and grow strategic customer relationships.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability concepts preferred.
- Experience with CRM systems and pipeline management tools preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
