Job description

About Us

Applecart is the leading technology company that C-suites rely on to reach business-critical decision makers. The most important decisions are made by the hardest people to reach and influence. Historically, C-suite leaders have lacked the tools to reach the stakeholders who matter most to their business. The C-suites of hundreds of Fortune 500 companies, major agencies, trade associations, nonprofits, and governments use Applecart to put their best content in front of business-critical decision makers and those they trust โ€” from policymakers and investors to CEOs, key employees, members of the media and more. Decision makers are informed by what they read, learn from advisors, hear from colleagues, and discuss with family and friends. To break through to them, you must reach them through the only channel that really moves them: those they know and trust. Applecart's platform uses publicly available data to map billions of social relationships between nearly every American adult and enable clients to deliver content directly to decision makers and those who matter most to them.

We are hiring a Business Development Operations Lead in our New York City office.

About the Role:

As a Business Development Operations Lead at Applecart, you will work alongside senior members of our Business Development team - who typically have 20-30 years of experience at leading firms in public affairs, communications and business development - to win new business and grow existing business by supporting early-stage deals. You have an ability to understand prospective clients' key business challenges and the stakeholders that matter most to them, and are able to develop compelling pitches to clients on how Applecart can help with those challenges. You have experience partnering with senior team members to help them drive outcomes across a portfolio of clients and tasks. You are extremely organized, pay close attention to every detail, and are always looking for ways to improve and streamline your work. This role will report to our Business Development Operations Manager.

What You'll Do:

  • Work directly alongside senior members of Applecart's Business Development team throughout the early stages of the deal lifecycle.
  • Prepare excellent research for early-stage business development calls, client-ready pitch materials, customized based on a client's specific business challenges and use cases for Applecart's platform.
  • Research business models, news developments, and prospect profiles for companies across industries to prepare for client pitches.
  • Become an expert in Applecart's value proposition, product and business model.

Experiences and Capabilities You Bring:

  • 1+ years of experience in a role related to strategic communications, public affairs, PR or sales operations
  • Impeccable attention to detail - ability to deliver polished materials ready to go directly to C-Suite level clients
  • Strong proficiency in Powerpoint; experience producing intuitive, client-ready business decks and memos
  • Ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while juggling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously; history of being a self-starter
  • Strong written communication skills

This is a hybrid role. Work from home on Monday and Friday and in Applecart's New York City office Tuesday through Thursday.

Compensation:

Our compensation package consists of three components: (i) a base salary, (ii) bonus / variable compensation and (iii) generous equity compensation.

The base salary range for this role is between $70,000-$80,000, based on the candidate's experience and skills relative to the requirements listed in the "Who You Are" section above. In addition to the base salary, the bonus / variable compensation is based on individual, team and company performance. The salary range provided is exclusive of additional compensation that candidates will receive in the form equity compensation. The salary range provided for this role is specific to candidates located in the New York City area.
