MRIGlobal is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support growth across our pharmaceutical services portfolio. This customer-facing role is responsible for identifying, developing, advancing, and winning new business opportunities within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, vaccine, and life sciences markets.
The successful candidate will bring experience selling scientific services, pharmaceutical development services, contract research services, laboratory services, or related life sciences solutions. They will possess established relationships within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology community and demonstrate a track record of building customer relationships that translate into funded programs and long-term account growth.
This role is ideal for an ambitious business development professional who understands the pharmaceutical development environment, enjoys building strategic customer relationships, and thrives at the intersection of science and business. Working closely with MRIGlobal's scientific and technical experts, the Business Development Manager will help position differentiated solutions, expand existing customer relationships, and create new opportunities that support revenue growth.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Develop, qualify, and advance new business opportunities within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, vaccine, and life sciences markets.
  • Leverage an existing industry network to identify potential customers, strategic partners, and qualified opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with scientific, technical, operational, procurement, and business decision-makers.
  • Develop and execute account strategies for targeted customers and growth markets.
  • Maintain a healthy and accurate business development pipeline through Salesforce and other CRM platforms.
  • Support customer meetings, capability presentations, and business development discussions that position MRIGlobal as a trusted scientific partner.
  • Collaborate with scientific, operational, proposal, finance, contracts, and marketing teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
  • Coordinate customer follow-up activities and maintain momentum throughout the sales cycle.
  • Identify emerging customer priorities, technology developments, funding trends, and competitive activities that create growth opportunities.
  • Represent MRIGlobal at conferences, partnering events, and customer engagements.
  • Develop relationships with industry organizations, partners, and influencers that strengthen MRIGlobal's market presence.
  • Support marketing initiatives and thought leadership efforts that generate awareness and qualified leads.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or a related field
  • 5+ years of business development experience in the pharmaceuticals industry.
  • Direct experience selling pharmaceutical development services, contract research services (CRO), laboratory services, scientific services, bioanalytical services, preclinical services, or related outsourced research and development capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success identifying, developing, and advancing new business opportunities resulting in awarded work or revenue growth.
  • Existing relationships within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, vaccine, or life sciences organizations.
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical development lifecycle and outsourced research environment.
  • Experience engaging with scientific, technical, operational, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
  • Experience using Salesforce or comparable CRM tools for pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Pay Range $97,700 - $111,000
The salary range is intended as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed offer, as compensation depends on various factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
