Job description

We inspire purpose-filled living that brings joy to the modern home. With a team of more than 8,000 associates spanning 130 store and distribution locations across the U.S. and Canada, we achieve together, drive results and innovate to inspire. Drawn together by a shared passion for our customers and a spirit of fun, we deliver high-quality home furnishings that are expertly designed, responsibly sourced and bring beauty and function to people's homes. From the day we opened our first store in Chicago in 1962 to the digital innovations that engage millions of customers today, our iconic brand is nearly 60 years in the making-and our story is still unfolding.
The B2B Business Development Representative (BDR) fuels new business growth through targeted outreach while also supporting active projects and accounts working closely with Regional Sales Managers. This role spans the full sales cycle - from early relationship-building to providing critical project management and administrative support - enabling managers to remain focused on strategic work. Over time, the BDR will take on increased client-facing ownership and account responsibility as processes evolve. This role is ideal for someone who wants full exposure to a top revenue driving team, the sales cycle, and a path toward a career in a B2B channel and/or a sales manager position.
A day in the life as a B2B Business Development Representative (BDR)...
  • Drive proactive outreach to build a high-quality B2B pipeline - including prospecting new and engaging existing clients to promote relevant products and services, leveraging internal prospecting tools to identify new business opportunities.
  • Manage and nurture existing accounts by supporting ongoing needs in partnership with Regional Sales Managers.
  • Support with client-facing materials, i.e., sales presentations, client proposals, design packages.
  • Collaborate with design and sales leads to curate product selection and provide product availability information.
  • Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and communication with B2B internal teams and cross-functionally (operations, customer service, product teams) to ensure smooth execution through delivery.
  • Maintain accurate CRM and project tracking in the sales pipeline.
  • Monitor active opportunities, escalating risks or delays that may impact client deliverables.
  • Provide responsive support for smaller or emerging clients to maintain service quality.

What you'll bring to the table...
  • Polished communicator with warm and professional client presence.
  • Highly organized, stays steady and confident amid shifting priorities.
  • Resourceful and quick to step into various tasks based on what's needed.
  • Thrives in a fast-moving environment and brings judgement under pressure.
  • Problem-solving instincts and comfort with evolving processes.
  • Collaborative and able to influence without authority.
  • Curious and eager to learn sales cycles, product & service offerings, and operational workflows.

We'd love to hear from you if you have...
  • 3 years of experience in business development, inside sales, account coordination, or similar B2B roles.
  • Proven experience managing multiple workstreams or requests simultaneously.
  • Background in environments where adaptability, hustle and client poise are essential.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and basic reporting
  • Experience working with operations, inventory, product, or customer support teams preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience balancing both prospecting new clients and nurturing current clients is a plus.
  • Background in B2B, retail, design, or furniture-related industries a strong plus.
