Essential Job Duties
Under the supervision of the NC State Student Centers Associate Director for Building Services, the primary purpose of this position is to support, maintain, and facilitate a robust day-to-day program for student union management with an emphasis on safety, student development and success. This role provides leadership to ensure the mission of the student centers is met and adapts to the changing needs of the student body and campus.
This position will lead the building manager and information desk teams including training, supervising, scheduling both student and temp building managers with a focus on the student and visitor experience. In addition, this position will assist in daily management of the student unions including but not limited to furniture, equipment, loading dock and logistics, safety, crowd management and customer service.
This position serves as a point of contact and support for Building Managers and the Information Desk and will collaborate with Event Operations (reservations, event planning, production, event operations) teams. The position will also work closely with the Loading Dock Supervisor and Building Services Technicians to assist in planning student support and scheduling of dock logistics, and furniture cleaning/repair. This position will troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, work with the Associate Director to determine and implement a furniture upgrade and repair schedule. Additionally, this position serves as a mandatory employee for adverse weather and emergencies and is a key contact for those events including after hours and onsite.
Other Responsibilities
  • Model the Division's mission and values and foster a positive, cohesive workplace and congeniality among co-workers.
  • Understand the goals and culture of the organization, and understand how employees' work activities, teamwork, and customer service impact clients. Work with your supervisor and colleagues to understand these goals and the culture.
  • Assist the NC State Student Centers Leadership Team with special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • State vehicle furnished to drive to events or other Campus Enterprises locations.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in student unions, student development, student affairs, or other student-related field in a college or university setting.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Required License or Certification
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Valid NCDL within 60 days of hire, must be maintained.
