Job description

Building Supervisor 

Wage: $28.00/ hour 

Schedule: Monday–Friday; 5:00 AM–1:00 PM

Position Summary

The Building Supervisor is the lead security supervisor assigned to a specific data center building, responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations. This role ensures full compliance with site-specific procedures, supports staffing needs, and maintains consistent operational standards across all posts. Operating in either a construction or fully functioning data center environment, the Building Supervisor serves as the on-site authority for post execution, officer performance, and real-time coordination, reporting directly to the Campus Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily security operations for the assigned building, covering both perimeter and internal posts.
  • Directly Supervise 15–20+ security officers, providing coaching, guidance, and performance management as needed.
  • Manage daily schedules, address call-offs, no-shows, and fill open shifts to maintain post coverage.
  • Communicate all schedule updates and operational concerns to the Campus Supervisor and Account Manager.
  • Conduct regular post checks and formal post audits to ensure compliance with site procedures and operational standards.
  • Track key operational metrics as required by the client work order and submit documentation through Outlook, Teams, Quip, Microsoft Forms, and Chime.
  • Complete daily end-of-shift reports to document activities, officer performance, and any incidents or issues.
  • Respond to and manage alarm activations and other security incidents, ensuring resolution and escalation per protocol.
  • Administer corrective actions up to and including written warnings and submit termination tickets when warranted.
  • Ensure all officers meet required compliance standards and site expectations.
  • Serve as a working supervisor capable of stepping into and performing duties at any post across the site.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to enable visibility and engagement across all shifts.
  • Promptly report all safety violations, near misses, injuries, and accidents, ensuring all incident and investigation reports are completed within alignment with company guidelines and in collaboration with HR.
  • Confirm officers are properly equipped (radios, PPE, badges) and aware of their emergency response procedures. Conduct hourly post-checks on all posts.
  • Maintain a strong customer service presence by setting the tone for professional conduct, ensuring all interactions with client personnel, contractors, and visitors reflect the highest standards of courtesy, respect, and professionalism at all times.
  • Ensure all incident escalations are executed in accordance with Post Orders and established company policies, validating that officers are following proper communication and escalation protocols.
  • Foster positive relationships by networking regularly with client contacts and local subject-matter experts (SMEs) within each shell to support partnership, alignment, and operational success.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a Valid certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
  • Proven experience in directly supervising and managing a crew or group within an industry setting or in a contract security or public safety environment.
  • Ability to manage a multi-shift team in a high-security, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to operate proficiency in systems like Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Quip, Chime, Slack and Microsoft Forms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Familiarity with data center environments or large-scale construction projects preferred.
