Building Custodial Supervisor (Days) - Holman Middle School - 2026-2027
Reports to: District Custodial Supervisor
Salary:
  • Pay Code SBC: $38,490 - $68,190 per year
  • Pay rate is determined by years of experience. Click here to view the salary schedule.
  • 12 month/260 day position. Click here to view the work calendar.
  • 8 hours per day, 5 days per week

Summary:
The building custodial supervisor provides day-to-day supervision of the building custodial staff. This position ensures that district buildings and facilities are properly cleaned and maintained to maximize the value of the district's facilities. The building custodial supervisor helps to ensure a safe and efficient environment for the Pattonville R-III School District. The building custodial supervisor works with the district custodial supervisor in the implementation of performance based evaluations for building custodians.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years experience as a custodian
  • Knowledge of custodial methods, procedures, and materials
  • Prior experience with chemicals, disinfectants, and equipment used in cleaning of large public facilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with staff and others
  • Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, train, inspect, and evaluate the work of custodial personnel engaged in custodial and school district duties
  • Ensure that the quality of custodial services supervised meets established guidelines
  • Inspect all custodial work in the building
  • Determine corrective measures to be taken to insure custodial services meet established criteria
  • Communicate accurately and effectively in both oral and written format to staff, students, vendors, and administration
  • Create schedules and adjust workloads to accommodate absences, changing priorities, and special projects
  • Build and maintain an effective team of custodial personnel.
  • Order and maintain sufficient levels of custodial supplies
  • Ensure work is done promptly and accurately with an eye to detail and accuracy
  • Perform moderately heavy manual labor including extensive walking, bending, and standing
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to work as required on evenings and weekends as required when assigned by district custodial supervisor or other administration personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Requirements:
High school or vocational school graduate or G.E.D. or any equivalent combination of education and experience
