Evening Janitor Supervisor

The Janitorial Supervisor oversees janitorial staff and resolves staff issues, referring them to upper management when necessary. The Janitorial Supervisor provides initial and ongoing training to staff, including use of equipment and safety practices. Supervisors are responsible for specific job sites and will provide coverage for any absent employees of those sites. Employee can perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Essential Functions

  • Provides supervision to janitorial staff, along with initial and on-going training as necessary·
  • Communicate clearly and succinctly, in both verbal and written forms·
  • Clearly state customer expectations to staff and provide feedback and guidance, ensuring that job sites are thoroughly cleaned and maintained·
  • Maintains records of and replenish supplies and equipment on job sites·
  • Plan and prepare staff schedules, assign tasks, and inspect the completed work of staff to ensure it meets customer expectations·
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with peers and staff·
  • Submit employee timesheets for payroll preparation·
  • Provide coverage for absent employees by maintaining client sites, with duties including, but not limited to: trash removal, dusting, cleaning and re-stocking supplies in various areas, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, window washing, and replacing light bulbs. (Specific duties may vary depending on the list of specifications required by the client at each location)

Additional Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience, proven leadership, organizational, and problem solving skills·
  • Knowledge of general commercial cleaning, chemical safety, window cleaning, and floor and carpet maintenance·
  • Supervisors must possess a valid driver’s license, to ensure the ability to travel independently to respective job sites·
  • Supervisors must clock in at each location visited, each work day, using the timekeeping system, keys, and security codes
  • Background Check, Drug Screen, & Vaccine Records including but not limited to: Varicella, Hep B, MMR, & Seasonal Flu.

Work Environment

  • The nature of the work is both light and heavy, requires uninhibited manual dexterity, lifting, bending, twisting, pushing and pulling 25 pounds repeatedly and occasionally up to 60 pounds.·
  • May be required to work atop ladders and operate mechanical equipment. Work is performed in a variety of conditions, may be exposed to extreme temperatures (0-90 degrees)·

Performance Plus will train the employee on the proper guidelines, procedures and proper use of chemicals and equipment during initial training and on an ongoing basis. Employees are expected to follow these guidelines and procedures as outlined.
