Job description

What to Expect

Tesla is seeking Equipment Maintenance Supervisors to supervise a group of equipment maintenance technicians that are responsible for equipment availability, and performance. This team will perform preventative maintenance and repair on a variety of electro-mechanical, robotic, and pneumatic manufacturing equipment. Additionally you will develop and maintain maintenance and calibration schedules for all tools, machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing facility.

This person must be able to build upon previous successes and take our Maintenance teams to the next level. They must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect part quality, production efficiency, work cell ergonomics, equipment maintenance, etc. The successful candidate will also have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.

What You'll Do

  • Provide effective supervision, training and coaching to assigned maintenance employees to achieve the required equipment up time, equipment repairs, and production goals. Maintain department records and inventories
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures and engineering procedures are current, accurate and that all work is done in compliance to ensure maximum quality
  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Focus: Responsibilities include ensuring team safety training, documenting EHS incidents, proactively identifying workplace hazards, and empowering teams towards continuous operational improvements
  • Provide the shift to shift communication link in order to keep all team members working toward the same goals
  • Maintain ongoing preventive maintenance program to ensure optimum equipment performance through maximizing MTBF, and minimizing MTTR
  • Oversee equipment upgrades and refurbishment projects, effectively coordinating with vendor support
  • Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Management, Engineering, or related disciplines or equivalent experience
  • Strong preventive maintenance development experience, familiarity with reliability centered maintenance principles preferred
  • Beckhoff PLC: troubleshooting with, or programming
  • Vison/Inspection Equipment (Keyence / XRAY / Surface inspectors)
  • Travel is required for training purposes
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
