Job description

Amentum is seeking a Custodian Supervisor located in Fort Gordon, Georgia. The Custodian Supervisor will be responsible for providing team lead oversight as well as performing custodian requirements throughout the facility. This role balances workforce management with hands-on technical execution.
Job Requirements
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the custodial team to ensure standards are met
  • Build daily task sheets and assign cleaning zones for optimal shift coverage
  • Monitor the quality and efficiency of cleaning services, ensuring compliance with operational guidelines and cleanliness standards
  • Training, mentoring, and guiding custodian staff to maintain high-performance standards
  • Scheduling and assigning tasks to custodian and custodial staff to ensure operational coverage and efficiency.
  • Evaluating performance and providing feedback to improve team productivity and service quality.
  • Inspecting the facilities to ensure they meet cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Addressing and resolving custodian-related issues with professionalism and efficiency
  • Ensure custodians have the proper area and key access
  • Schedule access for office areas for cleaning/vacuuming upon customer request
  • Monitor supply levels, place reorders, and maintain proper stock for daily operations
  • Remove and dispose of trash across all areas 2-3 times daily
  • Keep tables, floors, and common areas free of loose trash and debris
  • Clean and vacuum under desks, hallways, conference rooms, and open workspaces multiple times per week or as needed
  • Sweep, mop, and sanitize all bathroom and kitchenette flooring
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a government-issued clearance at the time of application
  • Standing, walking, and moving for the full duration of the shift.
  • Regular bending, kneeling, and executing repetitive motions to clean surfaces
  • Physically able to lift and carry standard facilities equipment and full trash bins
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and operational standards are met consistently.
  • 1-3 years of experience directly supervising a team of custodians, janitors, or environmental service workers
  • 1-3 years of experience building work schedules, managing inventory, and allocating daily task sheets
  • Ability to read, write, and understand complex facility security instructions and chemical hazard warnings
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills to maintain customer satisfaction and efficient team coordination
