Job Description

Custodial Manager to lead custodial and janitorial operations across a dynamic facilities environment. This position is responsible for managing custodial personnel, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation, and maintaining safe, welcoming, and professionally maintained facilities for building occupants and visitors.


The Custodial Manager provides leadership, workforce planning, quality assurance, and operational oversight to ensure custodial services are delivered efficiently and in accordance with established performance standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong organizational skills, experience managing custodial teams, and a commitment to service excellence


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise daily custodial and janitorial operations across assigned facilities.

  • Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate custodial staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

  • Ensure facilities meet established cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and appearance standards.

  • Conduct routine inspections and quality assurance reviews to verify service performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Develop work schedules, staffing plans, and task assignments to support operational requirements.

  • Monitor inventory levels and oversee the procurement and distribution of custodial supplies, equipment, and materials.

  • Implement cleaning procedures and best practices that promote health, safety, and environmental stewardship.

  • Respond to customer concerns, special service requests, and facility-related issues in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maintain accurate records related to staffing, inspections, supply usage, and operational performance.

  • Coordinate with facility management, maintenance personnel, contractors, and stakeholders to support overall facility operations.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, cleaning standards, and organizational policies.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Secret Clearance Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in custodial, janitorial, or facility support services.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising custodial teams in commercial, institutional, government, healthcare, educational, or industrial environments.

  • Knowledge of custodial methods, cleaning equipment, chemicals, and industry best practices. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and maintain high service levels.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills .

  • Proficiency in maintaining operational records, schedules, and performance documentation .

  • Experience supporting federal, state, local government, or large commercial facilities.

  • Experience managing custodial contracts and performance-based service delivery programs.

  • Training or certifications related to custodial management, environmental services, safety, or facilities management.

  • Knowledge of environmentally sustainable cleaning practices and infection prevention protocols.
